Here's an infographic that's sure to make your day even more exciting than it was until right now!
Lots of my students struggle with conjugating -IR stem-changing verbs in the preterite tense because the rules are different than they are in the present tense. To that end, I designed this infographic to help them negotiate the process.
I'll update this post after the kids have had a chance to use it.
UPDATE 20 March
After giving the infographic to my classes along with 12 verbs to conjugate, I'm sad to report the experience was not great. Most of the students in my first class reported the tool was hard to follow. Granted, I gave them the flowchart without any instructions as to how it worked, so that may have affected the outcomes. I was hoping the infographic would explain itself, but it didn't. I adjusted a bit in my second class and explained how it worked, but it didn't seem to have an impact on the results.
Based on the suggestions from a few students, here's a revised flowchart that may be more clear than the first one. It certainly eliminates most of the noise.
