It's over, so let's begin

As this first course comes to a close, I don't see a finish line.  Rather, I'm looking at this as the jump-off to two years of COETAIL classes and the implementation of true 21st century learning in my classroom.

This course has had several lasting impacts.  Among them are:

• clarification of what 21st century skills really are.


• exposure to tools that will facilitate that learning.


• the awakening of provocative thoughts about how to begin to change my class to reflect the current best practice.

Moving forward, I hope to:

• begin incorporating more 21st century skills into my units.


• use tech tools that efficiently supplement those skills.


• begin building a strong PLC via online collaborative networks.

Thanks for a great class!  I've included my first steps of integrating the things we've discussed during this class.  If you look at the first day of lesson plans, you'll see how I slightly tweaked my lesson to include a collaborative piece where my students use Google Docs to collect and disseminate vocabulary.  There are other tech pieces in this unit that I hope to enrich as I move forward!
